Winner winner!

Sorry for the wait, y’all! The winner of our contest is…

Comment #13, Cheri! Thank you to everyone that entered, I’ll be sure to do more of these in the future! :)

Our first giveaway!

Hi everyone!

This week, I got something very special in the mail. I’ve been obsessed with dollhouse miniature jewelry for a while, but I wanted to wait for something a bit special to come along before I bought anything. Something delicious and well-made. Something absolutely, perfectly me. And man, did I find it!

My very favorite color is this shade of blue, and a lot of my friends associate hearts with me just because I’m so huggy and smiley, and I pepper my online chats with hearts like cupcakes with sugar sprinkles–which I love equally much, with a huge dollop of frosting just like this. And the blue parts are sparkly. Can you believe it? It’s perfect. It arrived promptly and was so perfectly sculpted, it looked edible. So you know what? I thought y’all needed one, too. Unfortunately I can’t ship one out to each and every one of you, so the seller and I decided on a giveaway! One of you will win an item (one necklace, ring, magnet, or pair of earrings of your choice) from her shop. How do you enter? Comment on this post with which one you’d like (be sure to use an email I can reach you at)! The giveaway closes on September 15th, 2012. Good luck!

Some highlights from her shop:

But there’s so much more to see, especially the scrumptious cupcakes, so gogogogogo!

You’re just in time for a story

It has been one hell of a week, y’all–no pun intended. Sorry for my silence! But I’ve been on the road for most of this week, first with a friend and then all by my lonesome, helping out with The Devil’s Carnival road tour! I’ve met so many lovely and excited fans, seen the movie three times, helped move and pack and unpack and sell more merch than I’d even know what to do with, met Emilie Autumn and Briana Evigan and Spooky Dan Walker and Terrance Zdunich and Darren Bousman (and if you don’t know who any of these are, shame on you for not clicking my links!), gotten more hugs than I’ve ever gotten in my life, and learned to use a big fancy intimidating camera.

I’ve been in a car or bus or train for 22 hours total this week, with lots of walking and waiting (I waited the whole night in a train station! It was an adventure!), and my feet and calves and ankles are killing me, but I’ve had so much fun. The Devil’s Carnival is 100% worth the trek and the money, and you’ll come out singing.

Greetings!

I see you’ve stumbled upon my humble baking blog! It’s lovely to meet you. <3 My name’s Shiro. I’m 20 years old and an amateur┬ábaker, just starting to understand how things work. I’m a little new at this, so you’ll have to bear with me, but I promise with all my heart, I will post nothing but my best.

A little bit about me: I am in loooove with cupcakes and cake pops, and lean a little on the nerdy and literary side. Glitter and hearts are my favorite things in the whole wide world, and blue foods come in a close second, so you’ll want to stock up on blue gel dye while reading. Chocolate, raspberry, and caramel are my personal favorite flavors, but I’m always on the lookout for something my friends or family will enjoy. So you’ll be seeing a ton of different things! And I’m going to bet I’ll be as surprised as you are by some of it.

Some of my favorite bloggers to read:

Annie’s Eats, who makes the yummiest-looking things, both sweet and savory!
Bakerella, she of the original cake pop!
Confessions of a Cookbook Queen, her descriptions always make me smile. A lady after my own heart!
The Decorated Cookie, home of some of the cutest sweets-on-sticks I’ve ever seen!
Bake at 350, who’s made me resolve, right now, to try royal icing cookies sometime this week. Her creations are just tooooo adorable!

Thank you for reading, and I hope you enjoy!
